Live country music and "small‑town charm" have kept this Katy venue hopping for 25 years, with fans praising its "laid‑back", "friendly" atmosphere; though it can be "loud" and "packed", diehards keep goin...

From the outside, Mo's Place isn't much to look at, tucked off Kingsland Boulevard just south of Interstate 10. Inside, it can overload the senses with sights sounds and smells (Katy doesn't have a smoking ban in restaurants and bars). Mo's ringtone is the sound of a mandolin. It reflects the country aesthetic of his place, an expansive venue covered in wood paneling with dangling lights, saddles and horns. In the eastern section of the club a dance floor is flanked by two walls covered in memorabilia and photos of Mo and his son, Mo Jr., with some of the musicians who have played Mo's Place: Merle Haggard, Bret Michaels, Blake Shelton, Eric Church, Jack Ingram, Luke Bryan, Kevin Fowler, Roger Creager, and dozens of others. Mo Jr. calls it the Moseum.
