Probably breaking some kind of rule here...but this is about the single. QDR just played about 10 seconds of the song...yet the station in Decatur, IL played the entire song. Evidently, Scotty asked Marty about his phone # a week or so ago so he could send the snippet to him. I tweeted Mike W a thanks, but suggested he could play the whole song since a station had done so yesterday.

I am off today and was up looking at Twitter when I saw Marty tweet they would be playing a sneak peak of Southern Belle. He didn't lie. 10 seconds smh. That reinforces my belief that the station that played the song yesterday (while I was at work) jumped the gun and should NOT have done that. But I guess that is what happens when a label has no clarity on how a single rollout is to take place for their artist.

Craig...I suspect the MP3s were sent to the stations with little or no instructions or information about playing it asap or not. So the station in Decatur was not wrong. As you said, the label apparently has no clear plan for the release of Southern Belle.

Okay, I'm going to vent here because I don't think anyone will see it. I'm so disappointed over Southern Belle. However I've come to expect this from his label. It seems to be a pattern. They released the weakest singles off of CAD. When everyone was hoping that the third single would be YMTLG, what do they release? WTT. It tanked. Fast forward to SYT, I loved Rock This Night, low and behold, doesn't even make the make the album. FTFY should have been a single from SYT, but no, lets move on to the next album. Which bring us to Southern Belle. Why send it to radio in July when you're not intending to release it until September? Are they trying to ruin his career? I'm sorry, but he and we deserve better than this. Rant over.

I bought tickets to see Vince Gill. He is appearing at the same local fair where Scotty appeared last year. They also have Clint Black and David Nail (all different days) this year. I was trying to decide between Vince & Clint as I like them both. Clint is there on my birthday but Vince opening for Reba is one of the first concerts I ever attended many years ago, so I decided to see him again.

If Vince Gill came closer to my city, I would go see him for sure. I really love his voice and some of his songs are to die for.

If you all will indulge me, I'd like to tell you a bit about my avatar: Alex. As many of you know, I own and have bred champion show dogs, who I sledded with, backpack, herded etc. But, I also have been very active in rescue, taking in Samoyeds who have been abandoned, etc. I have had over 60 Samoyeds thru my home, rescuing those in bad circumstances, working with them, and placing them in homes. I rescued Alex in 2001 from death row in a shelter in Cleveland; he was a stray walking the streets. I can't tell you why but I never found a home for him, maybe he had just decided he found the home he wanted. Since he wasn't eligible for conformation shows, we participated in agility. I also took him to rescue events to show what great dogs are available thru rescue. I used the avatar picture on the webpage and titled it: On the Outside Looking In No More. (Actually, he had jumped up on a picnic table on my deck and I snapped the picture). At the time, the shelter estimated him at 5 yrs old, I estimated him at 1 1/2 yrs. No matter how you do the math, Alex is an old boy who gets carried more than he walks. He prefers to be plopped in the living room, in front of a fan, no matter the weather. But he is still a very sweet, and often humorous, boy. Alex left me yesterday to cross the Rainbow Bridge and play again with his buddies who went before, especially Hailey and Rory who were his best buds. I miss him!
