Where in the world is The Band Perry? It hit me today that's they haven't released any new music in quite some time. I kind of respect them for taking the time to step away, and take their time in releasing what I assume will be something of quality, while showing growth in them as artists. It would behoove a couple other artists (you know who they are, but I'll not call names haha) to give some good, long thoughts into doing the same for their next records. The quick rush to keep radio hits by some of the top stars today has diluted and watered down their music so much that it is sad. Sure they still get top hits. But let's be honest, their music is less than stellar and will never stand the test of time. I googled and found this, so maybe we'll know about their music soon: tasteofcountry.com/the-band-perry-new-album-2015/

My husband and I are in Vegas right now. We went to Reba's and Brooks & Dunn's opening nite concert here at Caesar's Palace last night. Great show! Loved hearing Ronny Dunn singing! He has a beautiful voice. The 3 of them came out on the stage together and the croud went crazy! They sang for 2 hrs., alternating between just Reba singing her hits, B&D singing theirs, and the 3 of them together. Reba moved around on the stage the most, since the other 2 had guitars. One bad thing was the band was too loud. You could hardly hear them singing! I had a headache when we left, and we were in the back! The seats were even vibrating! Hopefully they will fix that for the next show. Also didn't like the lights that shined into the audience. Blinding! Would be nice to have had big screens, too. We were too far back to see their faces. We also saw Terry Fator, who won America's Got Talent. He is a spectacular ventriloquist. The voices he does is unreal..Elvis, Roy Orbison, Adele, Kermit, Garth, Aaron Neville, etc. He used about 10 dummies during this performance. There are YouTube videos of him. That's really cool! I would love to see their show. I'm hoping this leads to a 2016 tour with them. I went to Shania's show at Ceasar's and we had the very back row. It's still a great view. I don't remember hers being too loud but of course it was a whole different show. Glad you had a great time!

Thanks so much for telling us about this event. When I first heard they were doing it, I hoped they would take it on the road. I'd love to see them. I also think Terry Fator is terrific; I watched him from the beginning of AGT and he was my fav right from the beginning. I haven't really watched the show much since that first year but he sure made it big and is the perfect Vegas act. My husband heard he has a 100 million contract over 5 years. If true, that's not too shabby!

Thanks for sharing this Summerthyme, after reading the story, and then playing the first video with her in the garden, brought so many tears to my eyes, I had to get a kleenex. When you really think about it, all we have to sustain us through the good times and the bad, is unwavering Faith and Trust in God.

Waiting to hear Scotty's interview on WRHU (Hofstra's station)...supposed to be on about 11:10 pm.
ETA: Heard the interview. Rita gave the highlights this a.m. Only thing to add: the dj obviously loved Scotty. Had great things to say about him before she played the interview.

Underwood and Clarkson joined with other "American Idol" winners and 19 to sue Sony last year, arguing that the company had shorted them royalty revenue.

Not that I have much sympathy for 19 Recordings (because they have had contracts with AI contestants that were unfair), but Spotify was also ripping off the artists.

SFF is behaving badly so just know this -- the battle continues. A decision won't be made until LATE tonight. [And I'm going to be crazy busy tomorrow morning with meetings and student appointments.] . . . Keeping my fingers crossed!
