Tickets will go on sale at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, May 7.
In a joint announcement, presidents for the Pendleton Round-Up and the Happy Canyon Night Show expressed their pleasure with the two solo artists.
"Scotty McCreery continues our tradition of bringing excellent artists to perform in Pendleton," Round-Up President Bill Quesenberry said. "This performance will be a great way to kick off Round-Up Week, 2015. Tickets are sure to go fast for this American Idol and all the other events that come the second full week of September."
Happy Canyon President Jason Hill agreed.
"Welcoming Scotty McCreery to the Happy Canyon Arena will be a treat for all of us," Hill said. "I'm excited for this concert and I know the Round-Up and Happy Canyon directors hope fans across the region will feel the same way."
McCreery burst onto the national music scene in 2011 at the age of 17 when he won American Idol in its 10th season. He quickly established himself as one of country music's hot new stars. By the time he turned 21, the singer/songwriter had sold nearly 2.5 million albums and received platinum and gold album certifications. Three consecutive albums debuted at the number one position on the Billboard charts.
He's proven himself a big a hit on the road as he is in the recording studio. McCreery has toured with Brad Paisley and The Band Perry, headlined his own tours and amassed more than 3 million followers on Facebook and Twitter. With more than 300 live shows under his belt, his fans – self-dubbed the McCreerians – are among the most dedicated and enthusiastic in the country music world. His hits include "I Love You This Big," "The Trouble with Girls," and "See You Tonight." All three turned platinum. He's currently working on his third album.
He was named Breakthrough Artist at the 2013 American Country Awards, has placed second on "Country's Sexiest Men" poll and has made several "best-dressed" lists for his red carpet appearances. McCreery also believes in giving back. He's supported numerous charitable causes including St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, World Vision, The Opry Trust Fund and MLB RBI (Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities).
Opening for McCreery is Corvallis native Jackson Michelson. Raised on country, rock, reggae and soul music, Michelson is known as an audience pleaser. His music ranges from raw country jams like "The Good Life" to ballads like "Fire Burns for You."
Michelson began his musical journey when he was 12 years old and tried to learn trombone, which he just as quickly surrendered.
"I couldn't play and sing at the same time," he said of his venture into brass instruments. "Writing songs came naturally after just a few days."
His full-length album, "Jackson Michelson" features singles like "Got it Goin' On," "Summer Thing," and Dancing in the Headlights." He's also been selected to perform at the third annual Taste of Country Music Festival in June in New York state. He'll be sharing the stage with headliners Tim McGraw, Keith Urban, Toby Keith, Sara Evans and LoCash.
