So I woke up on Scotty's tour bus a few minutes ago and it was 4:14am! My ( late ) dad's bday (AND the time Scotty was born in the morning!) Been thinking a lot about my dad lately (with it being Father's Day weekend) and how lucky Barb and I were to have such a great role model...never heard him swear, never saw him drink, worked all the time but never too busy to help a friend or family member. And when I got on the tour bus yesterday, there was a picture ( from the '50s or '60s) a random fan had given Scotty of his granddad in his patrol uniform! So, I know he ( and his twin brother, my Uncle Tab) are looking down from above enjoying this crazy ride their kids and grandkids are on. My dad was too poor growing up to have formal music lessons but he could play a little piano and could tear up a harmonica! And he loved to sing! Would sing my sister and me to sleep with You are My Sunshine and Count Your Blessings... his faves. I like to think my kids got some of their musical talent from their Granddaddy RP. Looking forward to the day we will see him again!
