Nancy....just saw this about beloved Alex....I can't tell you how sad and sorry I am for you for your loss.He is in a happy place romping and reunited with doggy- friends now and you have lots of wonderful memories of your beautiful furry buddy I am sure. Sending hugs along the way to you. Sandy, thank you so much. I have been so busy lately (nephew's wedding, etc) but Alex is still always on my mind. But his last several months were rough; he can run that agility course again.

Had a good day yesterday. Went up to Blossom to buy a parking permit for Scotty's upcoming concert (gives you access to much closer parking - doesn't help getting out though ) Anyway, afterward hubby and I went up to the Hardrock to eat at the buffet (the food is amazing). I very rarely go, but when I do, I put a $20 into a machine and when that is gone, I'm done. On the first slot, I got up to $164; lost a bit on another machine, but still ended up with $100 profit.

I see Miranda has had to cancel for some vocal chord issues: theboot.com/miranda-lambert-2015-calgary-stampede-canceled-vocal-cord-problems/One of the guys from Little Big Town apparently is having surgery for something similar. LBT is scheduled to perform at our local fair on Aug 6th; that is the first week following cancellations; I wonder if they will be able to appear (tickets still being sold) As I suspected, LBT will not be appearing at our local fair. When they said he would be ready, I was very skeptical. So two days ago, just a little over a week before the show, they contacted the fair and said they couldn't appear. The fair scrambled trying to find someone to fill last minute, but couldn't, and now have had to go dark that night in the grandstand and return all the money for tickets sold.

LBT has cancelled most of their upcoming shows, haven't they? They have now. Cancelled August & September. I'm no doctor but, when I heard about the surgery, I just didn't see any way they would be ready for this fair and mentioned it, at the time, to a friend who bought tickets. Obviously, first and foremost, I hope for a full recovery for him. But, I also feel bad for the fair who has only one "named" act a year and this is the first time in a long history they won't have one. Didn't have enough time to find a fill and now have the hassle/expense of returning all the money. I wonder if the fair and/or LBT have insurance to cover such an event.
